Tips on Losing Weight after the Holidays

All of you will agree to me if I say that you've gained more pounds after the Holiday season.  Who can resist the temptation of "hamon, lechon, salads and more?"  So to regain back our figure (naks) here are some tips to be followed.

Eat Right.  Choose foods that are nutritious and good for your body like lean meats, soy foods, poultry, fish, vegetables, fruits and whole grains.  Avoid fried foods, too much salt and too much sweet or sugar.  Do not skip meals.  Drink a lot of water throughout the day.  Use canola oil or olive oil when cooking instead of animal fat.  Use less sugar and salt in food preparation and when eating.(aw)

Sleep.  Lack of sleep not only leads to stress, it can also lead to weight gain.  Studies have shown that lack of sleep can affect your metabolism and increase your stress.  Aim for 7 to 8 hours of sleep daily.  (Hmnnn, I now know the reason why I'm gaining weight :D)

Exercise.   Working out is essential for keeping your weight in check and your stress at manageable levels.  Studies show that people benefit from at least 3x a week of moderate physical exercise.  Regular exercise wards off hypertension, heart attack, certain cancers and diabetes.  (Gonna exercise now).

Relax.  Relaxation is crucial to weight management and your well-being, since too much stress leads to overeating and obesity.  Have a massage, a relaxing bath, read a favorite book, do yoga.  Even a few minutes of deep breathing works.

Hope these tips will somehow help you regain your confidence.  'Till next time. :)
