Looking for So Juicy, So Lambot Chicken? Go to Kok's Manok!

My husband Mon love chicken so much.  Roasted, Fried, Steamed he'll eat them all as long as they're edible :P  Actually in our three (3) years here in Cavite, we've been looking for a different taste in chicken.  We've tried Baliwag, Senior Pedro, Chooks to Go and even Andok's but something is still missing...???

The good news is, my blogger friend Koko and her partner opened a place which cater a sinfully delicious roasted chicken, last August 31, 2013, the Kok's Manok. Their take-out restaurant already gained followers in Imus, Cavite just a month after its opening. But from a handful of stores that I also mentioned above, which offers the same product, why does Kok’s Manok continues to gain loyal customers?

My Destination Wish List

My wife and I love to travel.  In fact, we visited almost all of the most beautiful places in the Philippines, including BicolBoracay, Cebu, Davao, Laoag, Tagaytay, Vigan and a lot more.  Though there comes a time when we have to stop on travelling a lot because we wanted to have a baby and we think that when we lie low (lessen) on our travel adventures we could have one, but sad to say it didn't helped us.

Cebu trip
Cebu is like Manila, same building structures, same establishments even the night life.  I miss the danggit (dried fish) here and also the dried mangoes and most of all the people and the views!

Chocolate Hills in Bohol
Oh my Chocolate hills!  I think people living in Bohol are lucky because this is the only place in the Philippines or maybe in the world wherein hills are chocolate (well not literally :)  According to them, they call it chocolate hills because they became chocolate-y in color during the dry season.

In 2002, Sentro 1771 exploded on the local culinary scene with its original Modern Filipino cuisine.

Executive Chef Vicky Pacheco brought Filipino cuisine to the next level by presenting local dishes in a chic and elegant setting, combining Swiss and French techniques with familiar Filipino flavors.
People lined up outside to get a taste of her famous Corned Beef Sinigang.

Banana Tart
Sentro 1771's Modern Filipino cuisine fired up the imaginations of chefs around the country and started a new trend in contemporary Filipino restaurants.

Today, Chef Vicky continues to innovate with Sentro 1771's new menu.
The items are classified not as fish, meat, or appetizers, but according to every guest's needs. First-time diners must try the Sentro Signature Dishes.

Foodies looking for something new and exciting will be delighted with the A la Sentro offerings. Busy professionals with no time to cook can indulge in comfort food from the Home Cooking and Filipino Favorites section. The Vegetables and Salads section is sure to satisfy vegetarians and healthy eaters. The Rice section celebrates the Filipino staple with creative offerings that are meals in themselves. The extensive menu includes compelling choices from its Pica Pica, Spring Rolls, Inihaw and Iba't Ibang Adobo. This goes to show how Chef Vicky keeps the customers' best interests at heart.

Water Worth: Just How Much Is Right For You

Water is essential to our bodies. It has many benefits that help us lose weight, gain muscle, and stay focused on our tasks. While most people know the benefits of water, most of us ask: how much is enough?

“In my experience, most people are not aware of how much they’re drinking and are not drinking enough – many, as little as half of what they need.”-says Amanda Carlson, RD, Director of Performance Nutrition at Athletes’ Performance, which trains many world- class athletes

While most people say that the number of glasses you don’t drink in a day isn’t important, it is. Knowing how much you drink will help you stay hydrated at all times.
Water is involved in every cellular process and once dehydrated; these processes slow down and affect your metabolism, along with other bodily functions.
While some people may not be concerned with monitoring their drinking habit, note that even just being 1% dehydrated already affects the body greatly.

It's Time to Swish your Bad Breath Away!

Have you experienced talking to someone with bad breath? Or even beside with someone with garlic-ky smell?  It's disgusting right? Will you let yourself be that someone with foul breath?
Uh-oh!  If I where you, I won't!
Swish Tipid Pack
Swish tipid pack
Personal hygiene including oral hygiene for me is as essential as foods.  Why?  Because we talk everyday or even every hour.  We communicate when we're buying at the store, when inquiring for directions and when dealing with our clients.  So it's better to have fresh breath all day or when necessary.
I've tried different kinds of mouthwash.  There's a mouthwash that's too strong, I feel like being stung by a bee.  The other tastes like flower, and I don't like it.  Good thing Unilab gave me Swish mouthwash and breath spray to try (thank you).

Who would not know the Azkals? No, not the "asong kalye"(street dogs), though the name came from that, well that's another story.

Azkals, hailed by football enthusiasts as the “Saviour of Philippine Football”.  They has proven that Filipinos have so much to celebrate about the sport, as they play from one glory to another, yeah!

The Philippine Azkals have won the hearts thousands of Filipinos and marked the beginning of the country’s fascination for football —no mean feat in a country devoted to basketball. A Fruity Twist on a Beloved Dunkin' Classic

Living in the tropics means we have classic go-to fruits for every season. What’s even better is that we can enjoy them year-round, come rain or come shine. Looking for specialty fruits per region is also an exciting adventure, because the Philippines seems to have as many fruits as it does regions.

Food Trip at Luk Yuen

One of our vices is food tripping. And since tomorrow is "freedom day", we freed ourselves today and dine at Luk Yuen. This not our first time here, actually today is our third time. But like our first, foods here still amaze our taste buds!

Transform yourself with Schick

“If you had the powers of MAN OF STEEL for one (1) week, how would you use it?”

If given a chance to possess the power of Man of Steel, my first and foremost thing to do is to help our country regain its previous stature: wealthy economy and free from other (country) bullies!  I would like our youngsters to experience our economic power and also I would like them to experience how to play and enjoy with nature.  I've noticed that nowadays, kids are contented playing with their tabs/gadgets and forget how happy and enjoyable it was to play with real kids.

Kettle Korn: Poppin’ Fun All The Time!

I am a movie addict.  My wife says that I can't see the world when I'm watching a movie.  I even disregard her sometimes (sorry!).  Though I'm like that, my wife is very supportive and understanding because that's the only vice I have :D

Fast and Furious is one of the movies I'm looking forward to watch.  So when I see that the Fast and Furious 6 will be showing here and will be sponsored by Nuffnang, yeah, it's my chance to watch it in advance!  And of course seeing a movie is no fun without Kettle Korn popcorn: Poppin' fun all the time.

I've been to Boracay for the nth times.  And if you'll ask me if I'll visit the place again, my instant answer is yes! Buttered Shrimp in Sprite

I am allergic to sea-foods particularly in shrimps.  That is why I am not interested in cooking it.  But last Sunday while buying ingredients for our lunch, hubby bought shrimps and asked me to cook it (naglambing?).

Oh-oh how to? For my love to my husband, I dare to cook it.  I just used my instinct like Jang geum of Jewel in the Palace :) I cooked the shrimps without tasting it.

Food Trips: Ilo-ilo 2013 Day 1

It's been a very long while since my last post.   I admit, I've been so lazy writing lately.  But since I wanted to share my food trips in Ilo-ilo, here I am again writing my experiences.

It's my second time to be in Ilo-ilo, and like the first time, our main task here is to eat and eat and eat.  And our first stop in day 1 was the Cabugao Seafoods Haus for an early lunch.  Yeah, I've gained weight after our trip, whew!
