Water is essential to our bodies. It has many benefits that help us lose weight, gain muscle, and stay focused on our tasks. While most people know the benefits of water, most of us ask: how much is enough?
“In my experience, most people are not aware of how much they’re drinking and are not drinking enough – many, as little as half of what they need.”-says Amanda Carlson, RD, Director of Performance Nutrition at Athletes’ Performance, which trains many world- class athletes
While most people say that the number of glasses you don’t drink in a day isn’t important, it is. Knowing how much you drink will help you stay hydrated at all times.
Water is involved in every cellular process and once dehydrated; these processes slow down and affect your metabolism, along with other bodily functions.
While some people may not be concerned with monitoring their drinking habit, note that even just being 1% dehydrated already affects the body greatly.
