After the Chef's Quarter dining experience, today I will share to you our Amici dining experience at SM Megamall. In history, Amici started from the printing press canteen by Salesian Italian missionary Fr. Gianluigi Colombo, Amici di Don Bosco Incorporated was established in 2001.
The Italian canteen became a popular choice of the general Makati public. Two years after, pastas and wood fire oven-cooked pizzas were added to its roster of authentic Italian offerings. They became more popular even outside Makati giving them more profit. Despite their success, they realized that the restaurant business was not its core competence, the Salesians agreed to a complete buy-out of Amici di Don Bosco by Mr. Danny Moran and Mr. Iboy Pinga.
The entity was relaunched as simply “Amici” under Amici Foodservice Ventures Incorporated in 2007. At present, it is still known for the Salesian legacy of authentic Italian menu at very affordable price.
Back to my food adventure, we choose to be near the window to see the view, what view? Well, it's none other than the buildings around Ortigas . And from there, I can see the PSEC building, the twin tower. :)
Since Amici is an Italian inspired restaurant, most of their menus consist of tomatoes which make the dishes taste sour.
The Foods:
Spaghetti ala Bolognese (Spaghetti in meaty tomato sauce). Those who love Italian style spaghetti will enjoy the taste of this.
Clean and neat tables and furniture.
Upon entering the store you'll first see the Gelato and Cakes counter, where they were first known.
